What are the chakras I hear you saying? If you’ve never heard of the chakra system, or how it relates to your health, let me explain more.

The CHAKRAS are the energy centres of our body, running along our spine from our root chakra between our hips... right up to the crown chakra at the top of our head. Despite being discovered thousands of years ago by ancient yogis, modern science has only recently discovered how they relate to our endocrine system around the body. Isn’t that amazing, the ancient and intuitive wisdom of our ancestor humans! Our endocrine glands govern the release of hormones around our bodies, so have a pretty powerful impact, from our thyroid to our adrenals, pancreas to our digestive system.

Through yoga and breathwork (pranayama), we can help to support healthier energy flow through our chakra system, finding balance from our root to our heart, throat to our crown chakra.  

This 10 week course includes a weekly 1 hour lesson, where we will begin by focusing on one of the chakras per week, starting at the roots. 

Each week, we'll combine gentle flowing asana practice with pranayama breathwork.   

We warm up slowly, building flowing sequences each week, with a focus on functional safe practice that enables you to get the best out of each movement. 

We'll move through 45 minutes of flowing practice, combined with a corresponding pranayama practice using the breath, to help support the work done on each chakra. 

Once we have explored each of the 7 Chakras in more detail, you will also experience the joy of 2 restorative practices - where we hold each posture for up to 5 minutes, supported by props to enable you to melt into your practice and support the chakra system as a whole.  Plus you'll enjoy a  more energising chakra flow as we move towards Spring and a grounding and restorative yoga Nidra class to bring balance and nourishment to the entire body. 

What to expect from these classes?

This is a gentle, nourishing flow suitable for all bodies.

My belief is that anyone can do yoga. All levels of fitness and abilities - you don't need to be super fit or flexible. We will gradually build on your yoga and breath work journey each week, with alignment cues and posture variations to suit beginners and improvers too. I make classes inclusive for everyone, offering you advice on alignment, variations and adaptations for your body, using props and subtle cues to get the best from your practice. You'll leave each class feeling nourished, rejuvenated, rested but also energised... with tools and techniques you can practice between classes to help continue your journey. You will receive 3 months minimum access to the recordings.
